چکیده

Glaucoma is a primary cause of irreversible blindness worldwide, it kills the vision silently, having financial burden on society regarding therapy expenses and loss valuable hours day. Objective: To compare choroidal filling time grade status pattern optic nerve head (ONH) perfusion by fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) in glaucoma patients Methods: Patients with various types were enrolled compared them healthy volunteers no history findings glaucoma. Perfusion using FFA was studied analyzed corresponding visual fields (VF) optical coherence tomography (OCT) Results: There 70 participants study, including 48 22 controls. Choroidal (CFT) 9-12, 13-17, 15-22, 20-33 seconds individuals ocular hypertension (OH), open-angle (POAG), normal-tension (NTG), respectively. In OH, inferonasal inferotemporal hypofluorescence ONH noted, whereas POAG showed an inferonasal, patchy, undefined hypofluorescence. contrast that uniform fluorescence, NTG CFT significantly delayed (p<0.05). We found strong correlation between FFA, OCT, VF defects Conclusions: The prolonged glaucoma, especially cases reveals form areas multiple characteristic patterns POAG, NTG, OH.

Optic nerve and choroidal circulation in glaucoma.

PURPOSE To investigate the circulation of the optic nerve head and choroid in patients with glaucoma. METHODS Laser Doppler flowmetry was used to determine optic nerve head relative blood velocity (ONVel), volume (ONVol), and flow (ONFlow) in 19 primary open-angle glaucoma patients and 15 age-matched healthy control subjects. In each subject, determinations were obtained from four sites on th...

Comparison of acute non-visual bright light responses in patients with optic nerve disease, glaucoma and healthy controls

This study examined the effect of optic nerve disease, hence retinal ganglion cell loss, on non-visual functions related to melanopsin signalling. Test subjects were patients with bilateral visual loss and optic atrophy from either hereditary optic neuropathy (n = 11) or glaucoma (n = 11). We measured melatonin suppression, subjective sleepiness and cognitive functions in response to bright lig...

Optic Nerve Head Blood Flow in Glaucoma

These days it is commonly accepted that multiple factors are involved in the etiology of glaucoma. Although many studies have demonstrated that the major risk factor for glaucoma is an increase in intraocular pressure (IOP), some studies, including epidemiologic studies, have suggested an association between glaucoma, especially primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and normal-tension glaucoma (NT...

Comparison of Optic Nerve Head Morphology in Patients with Primary Open Angle Glaucoma and Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy.

The aim of this study was to assess damage to retinal ganglion cells (RGC) and morphology of the optic nerve head (ONH) in patients with primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) and non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). The study included three groups of patients, as follows: 40 eyes with POAG, 40 eyes with NAION and 40 eyes with refraction anomaly. All patients underwent standard...
